Our Teaching
The Geluk school of Tibetan Buddhism traces its origin back to Buddha Shakyamuni, as do the rest of the Tibetan Buddhist Schools. This lineage further traces its origin back to the Kadampa tradition of the great Indian master Atisha (982-1054). It was founded by the Tibetan master, Je Tsongkhapa Lobsang Drakpa (1357-1419).
Our Mission
Our Buddhist religious life revolves around sanghas (“Orders of Disciplines”), which are monastic groups dedicated to preserving and transmitting Buddha’s teachings and living in monasteries. The community benefits from monks’ spiritual quests, and their ceremonies offer prosperity and protection.
Our Needs
The monastery and the community it supports are located in a remote area and away from most modern facilities. We are so grateful for all the ways that you, our friends and benefactors, support our monastic work. Here are some specific areas what we need for the monastery and also the work we do in the community.
